About Us

Why?

Hi I'm Will! I'm an Orange local since I was 6 years old and after 5 years living in Sydney at uni, I came back home to Orange wanting to find a way to help people get closer and more connected to where their foods coming from, cause that way its healthier, supports the local economy, and helps the environment.

Eating fresh food is one of the most important things you can do for your health. The amount of flavour and nutrients in our food starts degrading from the moment it's picked, and by the time we pick it up from the shelves at one of the big supermarkets it can have lost up to 45% of its nutritional value! Then, combine that with the carbon footprint of transporting food all around the country or from overseas. This is commonly referred to as food miles, and Sydney Uni researchers estimate it to account for 6% of the worlds CO2 emissions! With all the negatives of shopping big, we had to find some way to make shopping local easier.

How?

To make it easier to shop local we combined the good things about shopping at supermarkets with the good things about shopping local. Supermarkets are known for convenience, having a massive range, and being relatively cheap (even if that's not always the case). Shopping local gives you that local community feel of supporting your friends and neighbours, fresh, high-quality products that big supermarkets can't get in, and great customer service. We had to get as many of these into our service as we could.

What?

So we created YourMarket! We bring all of our region's high-quality producers and retailers together into one online marketplace. Here you can buy from them all at once with a touch of a button then sit back as we manage getting it to your door.

Have we solved all the problems? Not yet! Are we working on it? Hell yeah! Our aim is to be able to deliver to you every day, have every producer in our region available to you, and also support new producers wanting to start something new and different to keep making our Orange community better! Not only that, where's all the benefits of shopping local? Well we'll be donating 10% of our net profit to community charities, clubs, sporting teams, and school programs so you know your money is staying local and going to a good cause.
